I am planning on playing Mae Peterson in my school play of Bye Bye Birdie. I have never seen the movie or a play so i am curious to know how major is this role. Are there many scenes that she is in? I am just curious, it doesn’t make a difference if i accept the role or not but i dont really know much about her except that she is crazy. Some info on her would be nice.

She was in her exercise pen when she escaped from the bottom. I tried to outsmart her and recapture her, but she ran into the woods. The search team has spotted her 5 times, but now I’m not sure where to look. We’ve looked under all the shaded areas, but I would like a guarantee that she hasn’t just continued to journey through the woods instead of staying in the general area where we’ve spotted her. It would great to get her to wheek or something. Any ideas, suggestions, or fellow experiences?

Ok, my local civic theatre is doing Into the Woods for their play for teenagers this fall. I’m 16 and I’d like to audition for the part of the baker’s wife, but I’m having trouble coming up with a good song to sing. Any suggestions?
I was thinking of singing I Dreamed A Dream, from Les Mis, since it was my chorus solo at the end of last year.

I would like to redo my bedroom with nice (but still used) furniture. What are the nicer types of woods? What are the cheaper ones? Is cherry nicer/more expensive than mahogany, pine, bamboo and walnut? Are there other types I should consider? Thanks!

Recent Ice storm created an abundance of downed branches ranging in the right size- 2″- 8″ in diameter- and I want to build a fence type handrail system for my stairway and top of stairwell with top and bottom rails with smaller vertical “sticks” between. I would prefer not having the bark on the wood and am prepared to draw it off. I am very handy, built the stairs myself, and patient.

Is this downed wood OK to use- do i need to wait until it is dry for shrinkage before carving off the ends? let dry first?
I have access to LOTS of ornamental silver leaf maple- is it too soft? Also sassafrass, red cedar, and limited amounts of black walnut. I could mix and match.
Please any wood workers who know their woods help me with selecting and preparing the right wood for my project- and also any construction tips- much to chainsaw and I dont want to cut up something I might need later. Thanks.

If you lived in the woods, could you find enough vegetation to survive? We can use the Florida everglades as an example, since you wouldn’t have to worry about freezing to death in the winter.
