How do you get a sponsor as a semi-pro golfer?

I have a friend who is a great golfer who wants to become a semi-pro or professional. How do you go about getting a sponsor or get on a tour?

start entering competition and when people from gold companies or so spot you and say “look he is good lets sponsor him”……..takes time. also you can ask if a company would like to sponsor him.

If you want to get to the LPGA you better not be thinking semi pro, you will have to dedicate yourself to the sport in order to get an exemption which might i add is extremely hard to do. You have to a phenom to do that.

Just throwing it out there because I’m no pro or even close, but if I wanted to be and needed a sponsor I’d probably hit up everybody I could possibly think of. As your friends’ name and skills become better known sponsors might be easier to find. In the beginning though I imagine it being difficult for everybody.

    That’s my 2 cents.

tell your friend to find sponsors that support golf tournaments in the area or near by and play in the event. If they think he good enough to invest in, they will offer him some exempts to bigger tournaments (pro level).

also, your friend can try the nationwide tour. There are some mini-tour out there your friend can try to play on. You must have a 3 handicap to play on them.

Dont think sponsership until you get yourself some good trophies. you cant find sponserships, they’ll find you. You gotta win tournaments often and soon companies will realise you and then sponsership is there. not that easy..
