You gotta win tournaments often and soon companies will realise you and then sponsership is there. not that easy.. If they think he good enough to invest in, they will offer him some exempts to bigger tournaments (pro level). also, your friend can try the nationwide tour. There are some mini-tour out there your friend can try to play on. As your friends' name and skills become better known sponsors might be easier to find. In the beginning though I imagine it being difficult for everybody. That's my 2 cents. You have to a phenom to do that.
