yes lessons would definately help you have made a great accomplishment and shows alot of passion on your part by going from an 18 hdcp. to a 7 or 8 hdcp. but take my advice when i tell you going from an 18 to 7 is nothing compared to going from a 7 to a +7 or +8 which is where you need to be if you want to be an accomplished professional golfer. find the right instructor the best golf instructors are those that can take your natural talent and make your swing more basic and consistent without too much change.. don’t take lessons from one that teaches you to swing the same way that he/she does..

unless you are a natural (not many are) you need to keep playing and practicing 2-4 times a week

If you choose to get a pro, make sure he doesn’t change your swing.

Brett, 99% of PGA professionals have swing coaches who the consult with on a regular basis. Tiger Woods said in his book that one shoud have a teaching professional to work on their game with. You have done well on your own, but if you want to reach the highest level, then it is in your best interest to seek out a professional. The greatest golfers in history had someone helping them with their game. It is nice to see a youngster who is passionate about something so good.

Enter as many tournaments as possible and win. That will get you noticed. At some point, you should be able to enter Q school. Good luck to you.

You are doing the right thing by playing golf for your high school. Look for an opportunity for a golf scholarship for college. Enter the open tournaments leading to the US open and push your luck. US Open is the place where the best high school and college golfers get “discovered” by TV. Just try not to abandon your academics.

Ben Hogan (one of the best golfers ever!) was asked, “If somebody asked you how to improve their game, what advice would you give them?”………..

Ben Hogan simply said, ” Get the ball closer to the hole.”
