What is the nicest, most expensive woods for furniture?

I would like to redo my bedroom with nice (but still used) furniture. What are the nicer types of woods? What are the cheaper ones? Is cherry nicer/more expensive than mahogany, pine, bamboo and walnut? Are there other types I should consider? Thanks!

The most expensive wood in the world is Koa wood. You would pay about 15K for a dining room table. That is all I know. Also consider teak and mango wood.

if you can get your hands on some american wormy chestnut, it looks really nice. hard to find though because it became extinct in the last 100 years.

cherry , oak and walnut are the most often used around here…oak being the cheapest and walnut the costliest…
